Employment Listings: Asphalt Distributor Operator

The Asphalt Distributor Operator's primary function is to operate the asphalt distributor truck applying liquid asphalt prior to an area being paved. The operator must perform daily maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor. In addition, the operator may be required to perform minor repairs to the equipment and is expected to assist in the general operation of teach job site. The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties: 

• Filling asphalt and burner fuel tanks 
• Setting spray bars
• Spraying joints and other surfaces
• Cleaning excess asphalt out of tanks, and from spray bars.
• Driving company vehicles
• Set up and maintenance of all traffic control aids
• Operating rollers, trucks, power broom, tamps, and skid steer loaders, and any other equipment the employee can operate 

The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping and bending. This position requires a Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement. It requires climbing equipment's steps or ladder to reach operators seat as well as periodic lifting of 10 to 50 pounds.
